Our History

Our journey began in Cleveland with Joseph Gross, a visionary entomologist who recognized the growing need for professional pest control services. After serving his country as a medical entomologist during World War II, he returned to civilian life in 1946 and established Central Service and Exterminating Company with his brother-in-law, Joseph B. White. The company quickly gained a reputation for its reliable service and technical expertise, expanding rapidly throughout Northern Ohio.

Over the years, Central Exterminating has been guided by dedicated leadership. In 1995, Pamela Chesley Gross, Joseph Gross' daughter, assumed the position of President, ensuring the family legacy continued. In 2007, Cindy Doe joined the company, initially as a partner with Pamela Chesley Gross before becoming the President and CEO in 2008. Under Cindy Doe's leadership, Central Exterminating has embraced innovation and expanded its services while remaining true to its core values of integrity, professionalism, and client satisfaction.
